Heather Merkley is an assistant professor in the Health Administrative Services Department. She has been with Weber State University since 2002. She has worked in the health information management profession for almost fifteen years. She has worked in research, utilization management, coding and compliance consultant for a multi-homecare agency, and a coding specialist in a hospital. She has also held numerous clerical positions within the HIM setting. She has a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and a Masters degree of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
