This is the introductory
course for production and
inventory management
personnel and
certification candidates.
This course provides the
basic definitions and
concepts for planning and
controlling the flow of
materials into, through
and out of an
organization. Fundamental
relationships between the
supply chain suppliers and
customers are covered. The
course also covers
production manufacturing
concepts, demand planning,
transformation of demand
into supply and inventory

Planning of Resources
(MFET 4750 – 2 semester
hours)
This course explores the
processes used to develop
sales and operations
plans, and assesses demand
and forecasting
requirements, to include
development of realistic
master schedules. The
course addresses concepts
for incorporating business
requirements into feasible
operations plans, managing
projected and actual
demand, and how to
integrate those plans and
demands into a specific
master schedule.

Scheduling and Planning
(MFET 4250 -- 2
semester hours)
This course focuses on
scheduling and planning
for management of material
and capacity. A detailed
description of the
material requirements
planning (MRP) process to
include how to resolve
problems utilizing various
material planning and
capacity requirements
planning techniques. The
course covers planning
material requirements to
support the master
schedule, planning
operations to support the
priority plan, and
planning supply sources.

Execution
and Control of Resources
(MFET 4150 – 2 semester
hours)
This course explains
techniques to schedule and
control production and the
process of operations.
Included is the
implementation of quality
initiatives, continuous
improvement planning, and
control of inventory.
Three main areas are
presented: prioritizing
and sequencing work,
executing plans and
controls, reporting
results, and evaluating
and providing feedback on
performance.

Strategic
Management of Resources
(MFET 4770 – 2 semester
hours)
Participants should be
familiar with the
information and concepts
presented in the four CPIM
courses (Basics of Supply
Chain Management, Master
Planning of Resources,
Detailed Scheduling and
Planning, and Execution
and Control of Operations)
before taking this
capstone course. In this
course participants
explore the relationship
between processes and
technologies and
manufacturing strategy.
The course includes
techniques for aligning
resources with the
strategic plan, creating
operating processes to
support the strategic
plan, and implementing
change.
