Description

The Changing Face of Crisis & Disaster Mental Health Intervention. Weber State University, in partnership with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) www.icisf.org, offers online training in the area of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Please be aware that this is a 30-day course. Weber State University offers a one-time, one-month extension on this course for a $50 fee. We encourage students to access their course at the first of the month. If there are any issues, please contact Weber State University at 801-626-6600.
 

Course Objectives

    To broaden and expand students’ understanding regarding the changes that have taken place and continue to take place in the fields of crisis intervention, peer support and disaster mental health intervention.
  • To allow students to reflect and recognize that changes in trends, theories and practices in the fields of crisis intervention, peer support and disaster mental health intervention evolve with each major disaster as new lessons are learned and best practices are developed.
  • To satisfy certification or recertification training requirements for students who are trained trainers, holders of certificates of specialized training or clinical or administrative team coordinators of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
