Professional Organizations

Membership in one or more professional societies is helpful to people with careers in the sciences.  These various organizations sponsor conferences, opportunities for research presentations, journals, employment/graduate school listings, etc.  Student memberships are usually inexpensive, and you should investigate the societies that sound of interest to you.
