Make Your Dreams in Education
Become a Reality!

New Credential File Policy

All WSU teacher candidates will self-manage their own credential files.  For directions, and the required cover letter, click on the links
to the right.

If you would prefer not to self-manage your file, you can submit your credential file materials to a credential service provider  - a business that will, for a fee, update and submit your materials per your instructions.  The company that we suggest is Interfolio.  View their services and guidelines at http://www.interfolio.com/.

Teachers who have graduated from WSU in 2010 or prior and have opened a Credential File with Career Services, need to contact Shannon Allen at 801-626-6393 to request a copy of your evaluations be sent to you.

To upcoming graduates:

If you have any questions or concerns, contact Shannon Allen for assistance in setting up your self-managed file, or go to the Career Services office in SC 230.

Scanning Credential File Documents:

Some school districts, following the on-campus interview in the Fall or Spring Semesters, will require that you scan your Credential File Documents to either www.teachers-teachers.com or to the School District Office. When setting up your Credential File, in consultation with Shannon Allen (801) 626-6393 or shannonallen@weber.edu, you can request information concerning which schools desire the scanning process. When interviewing on campus, you will need to provide a copy of the Credential File to all recruiters you interview with for the purpose of the interview.
Some districts will return the file following the interview (for scanning) and other districts will retain the Credential File. It is your responsibility to have sufficient copies for the schools that will not have you scan your documents.

Internship Opportunities

Teacher Recruiting Fair
The UAEE sponsored Utah Statewide Teacher Employment Fair will be held on
Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Utah State University Student Center, Logan,
Utah, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The Teacher Fair is sponsored by the Utah
Association for Employment in Education (a consortium of eight Utah Colleges
and Universities and BYU-Idaho that have teacher-education programs).  Many
Utah and out-of-state school districts in the Western U.S. attend for the purpose
of conducting pre-screening interviews to fill anticipated teacher positions. Also
invited are Charter Schools and Private Schools. A tentative list of school districts
and majors that are being recruited will be available to students that register
approximately two weeks prior to the event and at the door.

The Utah Statewide Teacher Fair North, held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012
is the Teacher Fair that you are encouraged to attend.  However, if you are

unable to attend the North Fair, then you are welcome to visit the South

Fair at Brigham Young University, Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 9:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m. There is no fee for candidates to attend either Teacher Fair.
There will be School Districts, Private Schools, and Charter

Schools at the Fairs that will not interview on Weber State campus.

You may want to meet with some of these schools at the Fair (for a list of

schools attending, visit Utah Statewide Teacher Fair Info 2012.

*If you interview on campus with a school, you need not visit this same school
 at the Fair.

Senior Seminars
Senior Seminars are presented every semester to ECE, Elementary, and
Secondary Student Teachers early in the semester.  The information presented
in these seminars is critical to understanding how to interview with school districts
how to open your senior placement file, and which information school districts,
request for the interview, whether on-campus or at their location. Strategies for
entering the workplace are also discussed. Seminars are also presented to students
in the Family Studies major and majors in the Department of Health Promotion
and Human Performance when requested by the professors involved, or contact
Dick Lambert in SC230, by phone (801-626-6393) or rlambert@weber.edu.
