Course and Book Information

The APICS CSCP Exam-Preparation Course is designed for professionals to review and understand the APICS CSCP body of knowledge concepts and prepare for the certification exam. Participants should have working knowledge and experience in this area of certification. Successfully passing the course does not guarantee individuals will be successful in the APICS CSCP certification exam.

Books
All required course materials are included with the cost of this class. Once you have registered and paid for this course with Weber State University APICS CSCP Learning System materials will be shipped directly to you via the APICS CSCP distribution center. Students should expect to receive their materials one week prior to their course start date. We recommend that students order a current APICS dictionary through APICS as a reference material for this course. To order, visit the APICS website at www.apics.org.

 

Course Description
The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional course covers four modules:

Module 1: Supply Chain Management Fundamentals
Learning Objectives include:

  • Learning the value of successful supply chain management in an organization
  • Exploring supply chain management processes
  • Aligning supply chain strategy with organizational strategy
  • Measuring supply chain effectiveness
  • Recognize the importance of continuous process improvement for supply chains
  • Supply chain design continually changing capabilities

Module 2: Building Competitive Operations, Planning, and Logistics
Learning Objectives include:

  • Increase profitability and optimize performance by understanding dynamics within the supply chain
  • Lessen complexity in demand planning and analyze the value of demands
  • Replace or improve demand estimates by creating collaborations
  • Add supply chain factors to product designs
  • Supply chain strategy to include the alignment of transportation and distribution options
  • Create and implement strategies for using 3PL and 4PL service providers
  • Look at the importance of reverse logistics

Module 3: Managing Customer and Supplier Relationships
Learning Objectives include:

  • Based on profiles and needs identify customers
  • Examine the value of a customer
  • Set customer satisfaction benchmarks
  • Examine the importance of purchasing and supplier relationships
  • Create a supplier rating system
  • Look at the effective uses of customer data

Module 4: Using Information Technology to enable Supply Chain Management
Learning Objectives include:

  • Look at supply chain data and information technology role
  • Examine how supply chains contribute to operating plans and business strategies
  • Look at supply chain management systems and how IT infrastructure relates
  • Learn how technologies enable collaborative commerce and global visibility
  • Look at distribution, reverse logistics, and global supply chain communications and see how technology enhances these functions
