APICS CERTIFIED SUPPLY CHAIN PROFESSIONAL

Now that I have the background from the Learning System, I am more comfortable dealing with day-to-day operations, co-workers, and vendors. I can speak and understand the language of my logistics suppliers. By telling them I'm a CSCP, they know I'm knowledgeable.

David Kesinger, logistics coordinator at ELESYS North America:

When Kesinger started using the APICS CSCP Learning System, the value became more apparent. "I didn't have much time to study. The online pre-test confirmed that I was strong in some modules and not-so-strong in others, so I could study efficiently - focusing my time where it was needed."

Before beginning the program, Kesinger had hoped that studying while juggling a rigorous work schedule would pay off, which it did. "Now that I have the background from the Learning System, I am more comfortable dealing with day-to-day operations, co-workers, and vendors. I can speak and understand the language my logistics suppliers use. By telling them I'm an APICS CSCP designee, they know I'm knowledgeable."

"The designation is helpful, but the knowledge has been invaluable. By implementing innovative ideas and best practices I've learned, we gain efficiencies which frees up time for other long-term projects."

LG Electronics USA

Because the CSCP program provides an overall understanding of the supply chain, it offers valuable training for operations and management.

The APICS CSCP Learning System training program has been a positive experience for staff and management alike. To date, Guillermo Juvera, Director of Supply Chain at LG Electronics USA, has offered two courses and trained more than 40 employees from multiple departments.

"Everyone was pleased with the APICS CSCP Learning System course. The readings were complete and self-explanatory. The group reporting feature allowed me to monitor the progress of the group, making sure everyone was completing their online questions and tests. To create a sense of competition, I aggregated test scores by department and shared them with the group. It was a great way to motivate."

The employees have been delighted that LG Electronics provides this supply chain training and many have gone on to earn the APICS CSCP designation. The program has benefited LG Electronics management in increased company supply chain knowledge and expertise and improved communication and information sharing across departments.
