Educate the Educator

Description
This course is designed to meet the requirements of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) guidelines for the instructors who teach adults in a Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP). Prior to approval of a NATCEP, the program coordinator and primary instructors must have successfully completed a Train the Trainer type program (Educate the Educator) approved by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) or have demonstrated competence to teach adult learners as defined by the UNAR.It is required for Program Coordinators and Primary Instructors. This course must be completed prior to teaching in any Utah Certified Nursing Assistant program. Federal Regulations: Instructors must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.Cost: $150 per studentRegistration:- Online: Register online below

Instructor: Kathy Culliton is tenured faculty in the School of Nursing at Weber State University. Kathy received her Master of Science degree from the University of Utah College of Nursing in 1989 as an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in long term care and has a special love for older adults and the people who care for them. Course Length: Students must complete the course within 3 months. Online access – no campus visits required. This is a non-credit course. Completion: Upon completion, the student receives a certificate of completion. Students should add the certificate to their qualification packet for teaching CNA.
