CISM - The Changing Face of Crisis and Disaster Mental Health Intervention

Course Objectives

  • To broaden and expand students’ understanding regarding the changes that have taken place and continue to take place in the fields of crisis intervention, peer support and disaster mental health intervention.
     
  • To allow students to reflect and recognize that changes in trends, theories and practices in the fields of crisis intervention, peer support and disaster mental health intervention evolve with each major disaster as new lessons are learned and best practices are developed.
     
  • To satisfy certification or recertification training requirements for students who are trained trainers, holders of certificates of specialized training or clinical or administrative team coordinators of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
