ESTIMATED COSTS -- WSU UTAH LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY

Tuition costs for the two different tracks:

• Evening Tracks:
  • $ 1,750 Special Function/Corrections Module Tuition (Module 1)
    (Cost includes textbooks and other supplies, a non-refundable $100.00 deposit, and $50.00 POST background check fee.)
  • $3,100 Peace Officer Module Tuition (Module 2)
    (Cost includes a non-refundable $100.00 deposit and an additional $50.00 background check fee may be assessed if it has been more than 6 months since a POST background clearance.)
• Daytime Academy Track:
  • $4,850 Combined (Modules 1 and 2)
    (Cost includes a non-refundable $100.00 deposit and $50.00 POST background check fee.)

Other costs involved in completing the Background Clearance Application include:

• $20.00 finger-print card processing fee – Cashiers check or money order made payable to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. This is required the first week of class.
• Uniforms and equipment.

The following equipment will be provided by Weber State University for Evening and Daytime Tracks:

• Module 1 - Utah Criminal Code/Traffic Code, First Aid/CPR Manual, Handouts
• Module 2 - Utah Criminal Code/Traffic Code, Handouts, Traffic Accident Template, Class Picture

PAYMENT METHODS

Tuition is due by the first day of class. Payments can be made over the phone, on the web, in person or by mail.

• Phone – 801-626-6600 We accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
• Web – Log into eWeber to make payments by credit card or web check.
• In Person – You can pay at the Hurst Center front desk. The Hurst Center is located on the main Ogden campus.
• Mail – We will accept a check or money order that bears your Student ID (W#) number. The mailing address is:

PAYMENT PLAN

We offer a 4-payment plan for those who prefer that option. The tuition for the module is divided into 4 equal payments. The first payment is due by the first day of class. FINANCIAL AID

There is no financial aid or assistance offered through Weber State unless you are a registered student and maintain that standard while you attend the academy. Contact us for more information 801-626-7564.

GI Bill - Veterans may use their GI Bill entitlement to pay for the Police Academy depending on individual eligibility. Veterans should bring a receipt of payment from the Police Academy showing enrollment, and the other documents listed on Services for Veteran Students website (www.weber.edu/veterans) under "How To Start Your GI Bill", to the Services for Veteran Students office in Miller Administration Building room 310. Utah Department of Workforce Services - The Utah DWS may provide financial assistance for qualified students. The Ogden office handles most of the job training in the area. For more information contact any of the following offices. Workforce Services is open Mon-Thurs from 7am-6pm.

REFUND POLICY

The $100 deposit and the $50 background check fee due at the time of registration are non-refundable. There will be no refunds on the purchase of ammunition. Once registered, each student is obligated to pay for their courses unless the student notifies us that they are dropping.

No refund is allowed should a student be dismissed from the training due to violation of policies and procedures.
