ACADEMIC PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
| Course Objectives: | Students will become acquainted with Cáceres Spain and surrounding locations as they learn and improve their Spanish language skills. Courses available in SPAN 2010, SPAN HU 2020, SPAN 3850, SPAN DV3550 Studies. |
| Assignments: | Journal entries, readings, and in-class offerings from Monday to Thursday. |
| Non-academic Activities: | Free time for personal travel, shopping, and evening activities. |

| Housing and food arrangements: | Stay in pensión. All meals are included. However, if desired, students may eat at local restaurants for lunch and dinner at their own cost. On excursion days participants will be provided a bag lunch. Participants will share double and triple bedrooms but one or two single bedrooms may be available at an additional cost.

| Selection criteria: | Participants must be 18 years of age or older from the campus or community. Preference will be given to WSU students. Participants must be aware that the trip can include quite a bit of walking. It is, however, not physically demanding of anyone who s in reasonably good health. The group size will be a minimum of 15 participants. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Risk Management: | Participants should always travel in groups, avoid unlighted areas, etc. Travelers are encouraged to carry limited cash, only one credit card, and a copy of their passport. Always secure them in a hard-to-reach place. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Emergency Management: | Telephone communication will be maintained. Students will have the telephone number of each place we will be staying and there will be a central person in the U.S. who will coordinate messages. Emergency contact through continuing Education will be Craig LaRocco at (801) 626-8740. There are nearby hospital and medical clinics in the locations we’ll visit. We will contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate should the need arise. |
