OVERALL PROGRAM DETAILS
| Itinerary/Calendar: |

| Housing arrangements: | Accommodations will be in hostels in Ireland, Scotland and England. Breakfast is usually included at a small cost. Participants are responsible for their own lunches and most dinners. The group will be staying in cities where a large number of restaurants and shopping facilities exist. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Selection criteria: | Student participants can be of any age group, from campus or the community. Preference will be given to WSU students. Participants will be made aware that the trip can include a lot of walking. It is however, not physically demanding of anyone who is in reasonably good health. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Risk Management: | There would be no issues arising in the UK which could not be dealt with in the same way we would deal with them in the U.S. Students will be able to communicate with emergency services; fire ambulance and police, in English and calls to these services are free as they are in the U.S. As an advantage there are no UK hospitals which require insurance papers before the patients are treated. Students will amass a list of emergency numbers to call in the U.S. in the event of the trip leaders being unable to make those calls themselves. The numbers will include; parents of other students, bank services, medical insurance and I suggest a first point of contact in the C.E. department. As a native of the countries the group visits, Debi Sheridan should be able to address almost any issue which would arise in relation to the well-being and welfare of the students. Any possible dangerous behavior is outlined and advised against before we leave on the trip and those students who seem to find the restrictions unacceptable, will hopefully be weeded out during the interview process before registration is allowed. |
