What is the CFSSA?

The Child and Family Studies Student Association (CFSSA) is an organization designed to educate and provide practical application for students with an emphasis in Child and Family Studies.
This includes preparing students to certify as Early Childhood and Family Life Educators, continue their education in graduate programs, and educate the campus and community with respect to family life, relations, and policies.
It is the intent of the student organization to enhance community, state and nationwide recognition of the Child and Family Studies Department, College of Education, and Weber State University.

What does the CFSSA do?

  • Print a monthly newsletter.
  • Provide listings of possible jobs, co-ops, internships, and practicums.
  • Have monthly "Open Hour" speakers and round table discussions to educate students about Child and Family issues.
  • Publicize opportunities for students to educate the community on Early Childhood and Family issues.
  • Inform the faculty of students needs, and the students on how to support faculty.
  • Recruit students to the CFSSA and to the department.
  • Maintain a current bulletin board.
  • Publicize Child and Family related events on campus and in the community.
