The Department of Visual Arts runs several outreach programs that provide free and low cost opportunities for school and community groups to particpate in and learn more about the visual arts. Field trips, workshops and gallery tours all take place on a monthly basis and offer opportunities for students, families and adults to participate in hands on art experiences. Each year more than 1,500 people participate in these outreach programs. Volunteer opportunities primarily involve gallery docent work and assisting workshop instructors during hands-on field trip programs.
