Majors and Minor Offered

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers various majors and minors in a number of areas. Refer to the current course catalog for any recent changes to degree requirements. Foreign Language credit may also be obtained for past language experience.

Keep in Mind

Students must meet overall university requirements (total of 120 semester hours, 40 of which must be upper division), general education requirements and maintain a C or better in major/minor courses as well as a 2.0 GPA (3.3 for teaching majors).

Transfer students must meet the overall residency requirement of 30 semester hours including hours in the foreign language as follows: 6 semester hours for majors; 3 semester hours for minors and BIS students.

Reminder: Students should complete an application for graduation at the graduation Office one semester prior to the date they plan to finish. Students should also see the secretaries of their department major and minor to be cleared on the computer when they know what courses they need to complete.
