Personal
I grew up in the Salt Lake area, lived in the Uintah Basin for 10 years, and have been in the Ogden area since 1989. Much of my time has been spent raising 4 children with my husband, Ken. I can now start enjoying the best part of having kids-I have my first grandchild. I am a registered dietitian and lactation consultant and am currently working at Ogden Regional Medical Center as a lactation consultant. My main hobby is teaching nutrition & lactation classes. I absolutely love beautiful music and one of the great joys for me right now is the opportunity to sing in the Ogden Community Choir.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that the best way to help people is to teach them to help themselves. I enjoy teaching people skills that they can use to better their own lives. Since people have different styles of learning, I try to use a variety of methods in my teaching so that all types of learners can understand and apply the principles taught. One of the joys of teaching is being able to continually learn and better myself as well as help students understand the benefits of good nutrition.

Professional Focus
In Foundations of Nutrition my focus is to give students a basic understanding of the composition and nature of foods so they can understand how it relates and interacts to overall health. I love to hear when students have made changes in their own diets and lifestyle to improve their health. In Maternal and Infant Nutrition my focus is to teach future health care providers how to help women in their childbearing years to be healthy themselves and to have healthy children.
