Scholarships
Scholarships within the Department of Health Promotion and Human Performance include
the Swenson scholarship for physical education teaching majors (teaching emphasis)
the Motta scholarship for physical education teaching majors or physical education teaching/coaching minors (coaching emphasis)
the Hirst scholarship for athletic training majors.
THE REED K. SWENSON
PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING SCHOLARSHIP
(Approximately $800 stipend)
REQUIREMENTS:

THE DICK
MOTTA SCHOLARSHIP
(Approximately $1400 stipend)
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Physical Education Teaching Major or Physical Education Teaching/Coaching
Minor.
2.
GPA - 3.0 or better.
3.
Personal/Financial Need.

THE DR. AND MRS. RUSSELL N. HIRST
MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Student athletic trainer with at least junior status.
2.
GPA - 3.0 or better.
3.
Unique promise and desire to continue professionally in the field of athletic
training or sports medicine.
*Applications are accepted last of March, early April, and recipient is announced at the annual Swenson Awards Banquet.
Applicant must be an Athletic Training Major or a B. I. S. Major with Sports Medicine Emphasis.
Applications must be typed/word processed and include all the
information, and only the information requested on Forms I and II.
