General Introduction
|

As
a registered student, faculty, or staff you can plug right into
Weber State Universitys Public Data Network, AirWeber and access
on campus and off campus Internet services. To do so, you must
first obtain a Weber NIMS e-mail account and set a password.
This account will be where you will receive information on WeberNET
and AirWeber changes and problems with your equipment or WSUNet
account. You may generate an WildCat e-mail account at
eServices
Wired Internet access in University Village will be ethernet 10
megabit half duplex connections utilizing the Internet Protocol (IP). Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) will need to be set on your client (fancy
work for PC or MAC) to connect to the University Village data network. DHCP
will supply to your PC or MAC the information required to connect to the network
such as a local IP address, Domain Name Service (DNS) server and backup, and
local gateway address. Contact the Help Desk at 626-7777 or your local R.A. if
you have problems setting up your connection.
