The following is a excerpt, taken from the 2003-2004 catalog, which describes the core requirement of Quantitative Literacy.

3. QUANTITATIVE LITERACY (3 credits) - one of the following:

a. Completion of one mathematics course (C or above): Math QL1030, Math QL1040, Math QL1050*, Math QL1080, or any math course with either Math QL1050* or Math QL1080 as a prerequisite.

*Math QL1050 is College Algebra, not Intermediate Algebra as Math 105 was on the quarter system.

b. A score of 65 or greater on the COMPASS college algebra exam (college algebra portion).

c.  A score of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Calculus test (AB or BC).

d.   A score of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP Statistics test.

As of Spring, 2007, a new course has been added to the QL list by the faculty senate:

e.  PHIL 2200 with grade C or better (prerequisite:  Math 960, or 955, or placement test).
