UMT Announces 2003 Schedule, Early Bird Special
Thursday, August 08, 2002
OGDEN, Utah – Utah Musical Theatre’s 2003 season includes a new award-winning musical and two timeless favorites for the whole family to enjoy.
Audiences of all ages will discover the appeal of Honk!, a musical based on the children’s classic The Ugly Duckling. The production follows the trials and tribulations of Ugly who embarks on a journey of self discovery. Honk! won the British equivalent of the Tony Award for Best New Musical in 2000.
The 2003 season also features The Fantasticks, the longest running musical in the world. This timeless fable of love with its beloved melody “Try to Remember” promises audiences a nostalgic experience full of universal themes.
UMT’s third offering is Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, a story of romance and the battle of the sexes with a decidedly western flare. Annie Oakley’s adventures aim to please audiences in 2003.
Capitalizing on the popularity of youth prices for 2002’s Children of Eden, UMT is offering a family-friendly early bird special for the 2003 season. Season subscriptions for next year, regularly $75, are currently available for $45 each if purchased before September 30, 2002.
UMT also wants the whole family to enjoy the live theater experience, so it’s offering fans the chance to purchase up to four season youth tickets (ages 6-17) for $3 each, with the purchase of two season subscriptions.
To order tickets for 2003, call 1-(800)-WSU-TIKS or (801) 626-8500.
