Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science: The Johns
Hopkins University, 1992 and 1989
B.A. in Political Science: The College of Wooster,

ACADEMIC INTERESTS:
My area of specialty within political science is political theory. I teach an introduction to political theory course, American political thought, an upper division history of political thought sequence and international relations theory. I also teach the theories course for the Women's Studies Program on occasion. I have published several works dealing with the concepts of sovereignty and environment. Currently I am working on two main projects: first, an American government textbook, with Dr. Frank Guliuzza; and second, an American political thought text that focuses on the ways in which cultural, ethnic, racial, religious and sexual differences have been addressed through out the history of American political thought.
