Provost's
Office
The Provost's Office is
responsible for the academic
programs of the University.
This includes over 215
majors at the associate,
bachelor, and master level.
It represents the collective
work of over 460 full-time
faculty, 400 adjunct
faculty, 200 staff, and 16
executives. Together they
provide education for over
18,700 students.
Academic Affairs includes
seven colleges, the library,
enrollment services,
continuing education,
applied technology
education, sponsored
projects, institutional
accreditation, and
assessment. Together we are
responsible for instruction
at two campuses, five other
institutions and nine other
locations throughout Utah,
in six states, and
throughout the world on WSU
Online.
The provost is assisted
by two associate provosts,
nine deans, four enrollment
service directors, and the
combined efforts of faculty
leaders and staff.
Together they manage a
budget in excess of $90
million.
Associate Provost Bruce
Bowen has responsibility for
Enrollment Services,
including Academic Advising,
Admissions, Financial Aid,
Graduation, Records, the
Registrar’s Office,
Scholarships, and Student
Recruitment. Other
responsibilities include the
First Year Experience
Program, transfer
articulation, and transition
to Banner administrative
software.
Associate Provost Jim
Hutchins heads
accreditation, assessment,
and coordinates efforts with
the system office. Other
responsibilities include
adjunct faculty, the
Bachelor of Independent
Studies, Honors Program,
Office of Sponsored
Projects, and liaison
with the Teaching and
Learning Forum.
