Tyler Whitby moved to Lubbock, Texas, to attend graduate school at Texas Tech University, where he's working on an MA in Technical Communication and studying composition so he can teach first year composition next year. Way to go Tyler!

Faculty updates:

In early October, Becky Jo McShane traveled to Minneapolis to participate in a panel at the 2008 conference of the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC). The panel was based on articles published in a 2007 Technical Communication special issue on program assessment, which included Shelley Thomas and Becky Jo's article, Skills and Literacies for the 21st Century: Assessing an Undergraduate Professional and Technical Writing Program.

In mid October, Shelley Thomas traveled to Reno, Nevada to present "We Are What You Teach: A Comparative Study of Advanced Technical Writing Courses" at the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association's annual conference. She presented with Christine Seifert of Westminster College.
