Who Are We?
The Office of Workplace Learning, located in the Miller Administration Building,
is staffed by Cherrie Nelson, Janet Villarruel, Jennifer Evans and Sarah Rivkind.This office is responsible for a major contribution to Administrative Services through
(1) facilitating the improvement of the quality of the products and services of the Division;
and (2) helping to create a continuous learning environment that strengthens the quality of the workforce.Some of the duties and responsibilities of this office include:
1. Help to establish and ensure success of the Administrative Services Division Strategic Plan.
2. Establish and ensure success of Divisional and some Institutional cross- functional Process Action Teams.
3. Establish a formal, mandated and structured education and training program.
4. Develop, pilot, and teach various training courses, including a management and supervisory training program, orientation for new hires, etc.
5. Identify and evaluate outside consultants to determine their ability to provide training.
6. Establish and use an Intranet to provide training opportunities, as appropriate.
7. Facilitate customer identification and help draw out customer expectations. Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate the results of various hard copy and online surveys.
8. Facilitate the establishment of customer and employee satisfaction measurements.
9. Oversee the implementation of the WSU Performance Review and Enrichment Program (PREP).
10. Serve as liaison with campus and community for quality efforts, i.e., involvement with the Golden Spike Section of the American Society for Quality, Utah Quality Award, and NACUBO-sponsored National Consortium for Continuous Improvement.
