Services for Women Students Home | Contact Information Carol E. Merrill is the coordinator for Services for Women Students. She is a 1994 Weber State University graduate. During her academic adventure at WSU she was the Chair of Weber State University National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and was later nominated as the first student representative to sit on the Board of Directors for the Utah Chapter of NASW, she received the Crystal Crest "Woman of the Year" award in 1994, was a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology and the Alpha Delta Mu Honor Society. After completing her degree at WSU, she obtained her master's degree from the University of Utah in 1996. Carol's background includes being the founder and director of a statewide program that assisted men and women in the grief process due to death or divorce. She has also worked with the Division of Family Services, Davis County Mental Health and as a crisis intervention specialist. Her desire to help women achieve their educational goals is what brought her back to Weber State University. During the past nine years she has been an adjunct instructor in the Social Work Department and for the First Year Experience program. She is a local, national, and international speaker focusing on issues related to: personal empowerment, single parenting, leadership, and communication. Carol has a strong commitment to advocating for and assisting women in obtaining their personal, professional and financial goals. She firmly believes that once a person has identified their strengths, the opportunities for success and personal fulfillment are limitless.
