1st place--$50, 2nd place--$35, and 3rd place--$25
The categories for submission include:
- Poetry: up to 3 poems, no longer than one page each.
- Short stories: no more than 5 pages or 1250 words.
- Nonfiction (biography, research): no more than 5 pages or 1250 words.
Guidelines for submission:
Must be a Weber State University student.
- One hard copy of submission, typed.
- One copy of submission on PC-formatted disk.
- A signed statement of your submission’s originality.
- Cover sheet with name, phone number, address, social security number, title, and category of submission.
- Judging impartiality requires that you remove your name from all but the cover sheet.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category will be awarded a cash prize and may be published in the fall or spring edition of Verbal Equinox.
Submissions Are Due By Friday, November 4 at 4:00 PM
