Writing Contest!!
1st place--$50, 2nd place--$30
The categories for submission include:
- Poetry: up to 3 poems, no longer than one page each.
- Short stories: no more than 5 pages or 1250 words.
- Scholarly Nonfiction (research): no more than 20 pages.
- Creative Nonfiction (biography): no more than 5 pages or 1250 words.
Guidelines for submission:
Must be a Weber State University student.
- One hard copy of submission, typed.
- One copy of submission on PC-formatted disk.
- A signed statement of your submission’s originality.
- Cover sheet with name, phone number, address, social security number, title, and category of submission.
- Judging impartiality requires that you remove your name from all but the cover sheet.
The 1st and 2nd place
winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes and will be published in
the
spring edition of Verbal Equinox.
