Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be an IWCA member to present at the conference?
We encourage your membership for the benefits to you, to your organization, and to a strengthened IWCA body. Also, registration for members is value added. Nonetheless,
you do not have to be a member to present at the conference.
Here is a link to check out IWCA membership.

What is the deadline for submitting proposals?

We need to have your proposals in hand by Mar. 15th. Final answer.

How many proposals may I submit?
While we appreciate your initiative and good intentions, please conserve your energy, and plan to be accepted for one spectacular session per conference.

When will I hear if my proposal is accepted?

We will to get back to you by June 1st, and we will then request a return confirmation from you about any revisions we suggest.

May I register with my credit card?
Certainly! Please visit the
Registration page for links.

What if the hotel is full?
Please visit the
Lodging & Transportation link for information about nearby hotels you can try. You may also find further resources at this site.

Do I have to register if I am only able to attend long enough to present my paper? Must I attend the whole conference?
Your registration is required for you to present at the conference, and no partial registrations are available. You can stay for as little or as much of the conference as you prefer, and we urge you to attend as much as possible to get your money's worth and to fully benefit from the experience.

If I need to withdraw from the conference, can I get a refund?

Deadline for cancellation and full refund is Aug. 15, 2008, half refund September 15, 2008. We regret that we can give no refunds after September 15th, as we will have ordered food and paid for special events by then. For questions or to request a refund, contact Claire Hughes at clairehughes@weber.edu.

What fun activities can a person under 21 do in Las Vegas?
Remember, the conference hotel is a non-gaming facility; you can swim and hang out there and make some good food in your room's kitchenette. Or you can visit this site for lots of resources and ideas. Also, please visit the
Events link in the sidebar to check out scheduled fun conference activities.

Are conference scholarships available?
A limited number of scholarships are available, some from NCPTW and some from IWCA.  Please submit this application for consideration. (Link will be active soon--please check back.)
