Computing Support Discussion Page

The components and functions of the Computing Support department are described in detail in its web site (http://www.css.weber.edu/css.htm).   Computing Support accomplishments are outlined on the IT Division Completed Implementation Actions page.  The following potential implementation actions were either discussed but not selected, or selected and later placed on "hold" (in no particular order; corresponding long-term goals [LTG] in parentheses):

• Evaluate, select and implement help desk software that will facilitate improved management of support requests from faculty, staff and students (LTG-D.6).  [Although not as sophisticated as some, the internally-developed help desk request database seems to be working quite well.  This issue will be revisited when it is clear that the existing system is no longer adequate; 3/10/98.]
